Brown Patches in the turf develop because of extreme humid conditions in the spring and fall. Caused by a fungus, the disease calls attention to the need to aerate the soil.

Once you begin mulching, stay with it. Removing a layer of mulch will dry out the soil and potentially injure the roots below.
